ABOUT

This is CCLP

Legal representation is a luxury few can afford – 95% of lawyers in the US represent only 1% of the population.

Coalition of Concerned Legal Professionals (CCLP) is a free and voluntary unincorporated private membership association of legal professionals, law students, and others who commit their time, resources, and skills fighting the lack of legal recourse and denial of constitutional protections for a growing portion of our population.

CCLP believes that for immediate change to transform into a long-lasting practice, CCLP must pursue daily contact with individuals and groups in need of assistance to best respond to their real legal needs and concerns. CCLP develops these connections through partnering with organizations whose low-income membership or constituencies need legal and organizational solutions, canvassing door-to-door in low-income neighborhoods and conducting outreach to small businesses and to the community. Assisted by lay volunteer advocates, CCLP volunteer attorneys provide legal education, individual confidential legal advice and aggressive advocacy free-of-charge to address immediate legal needs, while fighting for solutions to the problems of poverty, exacerbated by government policies and the courts.
